Neighborhood_Houses_LogoNeighborhood Houses is a UCC-related non-profit organization that, as it states on its website, “has supported low-income children and families of the inner core of St. Louis City since 1913. Though our community has changed over the years, our mission remains the same—Neighborhood Houses inspires children and families to reach their magnificent potential through transformative, educational and empowering experiences anchored in faith, hope and love.”

This wonderful organization lives out its mission in many ways, including:

So what happens in the summer? We are delighted that Hope UCC has been chosen to be one of three sites to provide structured day care and education from June 16 through July 31. Approximately 30-35 children, ages 6-12, along with their caring and capable staff, will be utilizing Fellowship Hall (as well as Francis Park) on Monday thru Friday during these weeks. Activities will include academics, art, physical education and field trips—as well as lunch and healthy snacks.

Any child in this age group who attends a St. Louis Public School is eligible to apply for the program. If you have a child who is eligible, apply right away. Applications are available in the church office.

In addition, members of Hope UCC may apply to be volunteers. Volunteer time commitments are flexible. Extra chaperones are particularly needed for field trips. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer, even just once, you need to fill out an application. These forms are also available in the church office. Sign up soon and help support Christ’s church at work in the St. Louis community!
