Tuesday, February 19
Hope UCC Dine-Out Event at St. Louis Bread Company from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Please join us for the first of three fundraising dine-outs to raise money for our church’s 75th anniversary events. The participating restaurant is located at 6607 Chippewa St., St. Louis, MO 63109. Please show a flyer
(electronic version is acceptable) to the cashier when you place your order so that a portion of the proceeds from your purchase will be included in the program. For more information, please contact Autum Jennings or the church office.

 

Saturday, February 23
Building & Property Ministry Sponsored Work Day from 9:00 a.m. to noon

For the past few years the Building & Property Ministry Team has hosted successful work days in the first half
of the year and this year they hope to sponsor two. The plan for today is to do some deep cleaning inside the building such as dusting, cleaning woodwork, cleaning carpets and prep work for painting Fellowship Hall
and the main kitchen. Lunch will follow.

 

Saturday, March 2
Gateway ONA Convocation at Parkway United Church of Christ from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The 8th annual Gateway ONA (Open & Affirming) Convocation offers numerous workshops throughout the day
on LGTBQ issues and topics with emphasis on the ONA process and inclusion of the LGTBQ community in the United Church of Christ. The day features a morning worship service, keynote speaker Jeanette Mott Oxford, Executive Director of Empower Missouri, some new workshops and lunch is included. For more information

Saturday, March 2
Spaghetti Dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The annual all-you-can-eat Spaghetti Dinner in Fellowship Hall is a favorite of our congregation and neighbors
are always welcome! Come and sample the wonderful homemade sauce made by our very own men of the church! The cost is $8.00 for adults; $4.00 for children ages 4–10; ages 3 and under are free.

Dessert donations are greatly appreciated. You can drop them off at the church office on Friday during regular office hours or deliver them to the kitchen all day Saturday. Volunteers are needed! If you can spare a couple
of hours before or after you eat, please contact Susie Richmann or sign up on the bulletin board outside the church office.

Wednesday, March 6
Breakfast Ministry Work Day at Epiphany United Church of Christ at 7:40 a.m.
Epiphany United Church of Christ in the Benton Park Neighborhood of South City serves a free breakfast to
low income families every Wednesday morning. The first Wednesday of every month Hope UCC supplies the volunteers and covers the cost of food. The morning begins with food preparation at 7:40 a.m., breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and ends around 10:15 a.m. after kitchen clean up.

 

Wednesday, March 6
Ash Wednesday Service in the Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m.
We begin the season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday service. At this service we receive ashes, a symbol
of repentance, and share in the Lord’s Supper, a symbol of our communion with Christ and each other.
Ashes also available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sarah.

 

Tuesday, March 12
Fourth Annual Scott Knopfel Memorial Dine-Out Event
Hope church member Scott Knopfel enjoyed helping others and always greeted guests with a smile as the manager of the Drury Inn Hotel at I-44 and Hampton Ave. He touched many lives throughout his career in the hospitality and service industry. The Scott Knopfel Memorial Dine-Out Event celebrates his legacy of service and aids in the funding of scholarships for Greater St. Louis Area students. The first three Scott Knopfel Memorial Dine-Out events were terrific successes. Scholarships have been awarded to 37 students. You can help local restaurant and hotel employees with the cost of their education while dining out with family and friends.

Lenten Renewal Series: Session 1 in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m.
Take time out of your busy week to renew your spirit! The hour will begin with a brief, contemplative prayer service. For the rest of the hour, Pastor Sarah will lead us through the book “A World Worth Saving: Lenten Spiritual Practices for Action” by George Hovaness Donigan. You may purchase the book on your own or
through the church office. Cost is $14. Deadline for ordering is February 27.
